I Have A Question And I Need Your Advise Please
What Is The Best Bike For Starters?
Thank U
Bhk
Hi there,
thanks for this interesting question.. in trying to answer it .. let me first try to introduce something in here.
there is no universal answer to this question really! what can be considered as a good started bike for me might not be the same for you , and even some other third person would have a totally different choice.
if the bike feels right to the biker then it's the right choice to be made... to help new bikers decide between what they shall get .. the better question might be:
which bike is more suitable for me , and my needs?
to consider a bike to buy, you have to consider the following differences:
Type or Category of the bike (Dirt, Nude or Naked, Cruiser, Racing, Sport Touring, Touring, Adventure, etc).
Size of the bike usually measured in cupic cm, and shortened CC , for example; 600 CC, 1000 CC etc.
Brand of the bike, manufacturer name.this was really carefully put in order of proriority of choice, meaning you really better start with number one, then two, then three. nowadays ... thanks god we are surronded with choices, but few years back bikers in Saudi had limited choices.
so once you decide the answer to: why do you need the bike ? the category will be known to you.
second question's answer will be researching the sizes available for this exact category .. among manufacturers.
then the answer to the third question, would be in the form of conducting a little research or a little reading to find out which dealer or a certain brand provide some services that you would like to have available when you use your bike, among other considerations like does the spareparts wear out quickly, or not? is an equation most bikers don't consider ... lets say I have a bike that has a certain consumable (every 6 months) part which is more expensive than the same part in another bike that will wear in less time (3 months) there would be no use to consider the second bike's spare part cheaper because .. in true scenarion with the same thought it won't ... you still have to pay two times hand labor to get the spare part fixed, and you will have your bike away from you twice instead of once. in addition to other things. but once you start answering the 3rd question, you will be exposed to budgets issues , here you can compare your budget to the price , or find a leasing plan.
one of the attitudes of bikers in Saudi is to decide which bike to buy in reverse order of questions 123 above, I know people who literaly answer their questions 3 then 2 directly ... question number one wouldn't be considered at all .. this will cause a choice that might have the biker say to him self after using the bike .. hey this is not what I really wanted out of biking..
another problem, is the trying to see what do the commons ride, and decide that let me get something like them , I don't want to ride something else ..
among questions to ask is what is going to be the value of the bike when I think to sell it later, and who would be interested to get it .. and how?
one last consideration to the matter, is that life is a journey, while are going through this journey ... we learn about things and ourselves.... this is very true in motorcycles too, Its really rare to see one biker stuck to one motorcycle type, size, or brand all his life.
So start somewhere really, and work your way through, untill you are around something that really feels right to you, then you decide that this bike will do for me for the time being.
I hope, these explanation are clear, and that they will help you in answering your concerns.
